Captain Alert
"We are going to make a water landing! Flight attendants, make sure all passengers are wearing a life vest!"
Step-by-Step Procedure
- After the engine explosion, distribute life vests to every passenger.
- Look for red exclamation marks above passengers without vests (Easy/Medium).
- Press the Land button once all passengers are equipped.
- Brace for impact as the captain calls "Brace, brace, brace!"
- Open all usable boarding doors to deploy yellow life rafts.
- Manually prompt remaining passengers to evacuate onto rafts.
- Board the orange crew raft that spawns at the front door.
Severity Classification
This emergency is classified as Flight-Terminating. This emergency terminates the flight. Focus on passenger evacuation and safety above all else.
Water landings combine life vest distribution with full evacuation procedures. The sequence begins when one or more engines explode and catch fire, causing the aircraft to lose altitude rapidly. Passengers automatically begin putting on life vests, but you must verify every passenger is equipped before pressing the Land button. On Easy and Medium difficulties, red exclamation marks identify passengers still needing vests. After impact, the water extinguishes engine fires and you must open all usable boarding doors to deploy yellow life rafts. Most passengers evacuate automatically, but some require manual prompting. On the A380 and B747-400, only first-deck doors function during water landings. After all passengers reach rafts, an orange crew raft spawns at the front door for flight attendants.
Preparation Tips
Always play the safety briefing video before takeoff — failing to do so penalizes your rating during this and every other emergency. On Easy and Medium difficulties, watch for exclamation marks above passengers who need assistance. Consider purchasing the Emergency Control gamepass to practice this specific scenario without waiting for random triggers. Review all emergency types on our emergencies overview page and study the game controls for efficient cabin navigation during crises.
